Alturas (formerly, Dorris Bridge, Dorris' Bridge, and Dorrisville) is the county seat of Modoc County, California, United States. Alturas is located on the Pit River, east of the center of Modoc County, at an elevation of 4370 feet (1332 m). Your group retreat can enjoy comfortable, lovely Namaste House with huge decks overlooking the creek, cathedral windows, hot healing mineral waters, and contemplative pools and gardens.
For personal or couple retreats or for the retreat guides, Soaring Kuan Yin Cottage and Magical Ananda Bliss A Frameare secluded in a wild fir and cedar forest with the music of the flowing waters and wind in the trees.
Larger groups can rent the whole of Flowing Waters. All three dwellings are well cared for and fully furnished with spiritual décor.

Naturalists are delighted with the wild flowers including calypso orchids, angelica, grass of parnassus, oregon grape, etc. as well as dipper birds, bald eagles, and even a family of sandhill cranes in our ” Medicine Springs” valley.

Shasta, next door to the mineral rich baths and sauna of Stewart Mineral Springs, en route to the spectacular Trinity Alps and the Pacific Crest Trail (30 min.) in a verdant valley near Interstate 5 (15 min.). The gorgeous and fun wild Klamath River for kayaking/rafting/tubing is just up the highway (35 min.).
